More textual analysis (MOTD)

Match Of The Day is a long-running, very popular football highlights show. When they produced a magazine it was always likely to be popular. This magazine is probably aimed at 9-13 year-old boys. The first element is that they are giving away free match attax. These are very popular football trading cards and the fact they are free will interest the audience. The Coverline is in big, black, bold letters on a bright yellow backround. This means it catches the eye and is easy to see. Te word "of" has a football as the "o" because it is football-based. This is clever and the audience might appreciate this. As you can clearly see in the puffs, this issue features posters. There are posters of Barcelona, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. These teams are huge in football and are very attractive. Most football fans will appreciate these teams and the younger fans could take inspiration from them. the EA sorts game FIFA is a massive hit world wide played by many people. They say that this will give us "game secrets inside!" This will appeal to the audience as the majority will play FIFA and due to their age they'll probably want tips to become the best. Another puff is the "look-a-likes!" This is supposed to be funny and will probably be well received by the audience. There is an image of the popular Arsenal player, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. By showing players like him it's likely that the audience will be attracted to buying the magazine. They also show the "new kits revealed!" to entice the audience into seeing them. Radamel Falcao is one of the best strikers in the world so the fact he has a £47m price tag and has a speech bubble saying "see ya in the prem!" making people want to find out who it is. This shows how they lie to exploit the audience though as it can't be very accurate because he moved to AS Monaco in this window. Sergio Aguero is another amazing player and young premier league fans will definitely look up to him. An interview with such a popular and inspirational player will increase sales for sure. Towards the bottom of the page is a feature with the Champions league. A competition that most people say is the biggest featuring Europe's elite. They have a photo of two champions league players that many consider as the best two in the world. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are having banter that some younger readers might find funny. In the middle it also has Will.i.Am saying "find out which club I'm like!" He is probably reasonably popular with the audience and something like this will appeal. Finally, Robin Van Persie, Gareth Bale, Luis Suarez and Michu are all shown in the middle showing the player of the year award. These players were outsatanding in this season scoring 78 premier league goals between them. These players would appeal to most and are probably the inspiration of many therefore expanding the audience even more.
